Most of the children currently supported by RMI are total orphans and come from villages near the town of Fort Portal in Western Uganda.

Total orphans, are children or people who have lost both parents, live with guardians, rent a room, or are in boarding school.

​

Our policy is to support a child for as long as he or she is willing to pursue an education until he/she obtains vocational training or a first degree.

​

Since  2005, there have been over 130 children who have completed either vocational training or college and are gainfully employed.
